On detailed case study, the parents of the child revealed that apparently the child developed initial viral hepatitis A & E positive strains, a month back. His Total bilirubin levels were around 4.5. He was advised hospitalization by his paediatrician for a week . He was put on intra-venous fluids & other antibiotics for secondary infections. Later, he was discharged after a week. His Bilirubin values then was around 1.

After around 15 days or so the child developed fever again, with development of Jaundice relapse. The child’s bilirubin started rising very rapidly, after the family physician put the patient on Ceftum.
The subsequent levels of bilirubin rose from 6 to 12 to 18 to 24 to finally 38. When the reports were seen by me, it was around 38, with SGPT & SGOT levels around 345 & 45 respectively.

The detailed history was given by the child’s mother, as the father was busy making arrangement to refer the patient to Bombay hospital at around 11 p.m. The child was not available for examination & consultation , as the condition of the child was told to be very serious.

The information given to me about the child was as follows :
He was a very RESERVED child, being very MILD & GENTLE. He was very weepy & tearful. He was thirstless from the beginning. He had desires for pickles & chocolates. He is a hot patient . He had dreams of Flying & wanted to become a pilot.

On these few symptoms , I arrived at a totality in just 5 minutes.
I advised the mother to give the first dose of the medicine as soon as she reached Bombay hospital.

The child was given the dose at around 1 am. The mother of the child called me up next morning at around 8 a.m .saying that the child, first time in one month has started feeling hungry. He was asking for food.

I was sure by now, ( in just 7 hrs, after the medicine was taken by the patient), that the homoeopathic medicine given was the right one ,& indeed the right similimum, given in the shortest possible time.

The follow up of the child was extremely good. He was advised oral intake. Since his haemoglobin was very low, around 6.5, he was advised a bottle of blood.

In the mean time the mother had not informed the hospital, which I had told them to do so, that the child was on homoeopathic medicines. As a result the hospital doctors started suspecting Haemolytic Jaundice due to some ayurvedic medicines (Homoeopathic medicines were mistaken for ayurvedic medicines , as usually people give for Jaundice) They immediately advised Ser. Arsenic levels at Kasturba hospital, which obviously came NORMAL.

The Rubrics taken in this case were as follows:

After repertorization the remedies coming very close were Puls, Nat.mur & lyco.

Patient being thirstless, hot , timid, desires sweets & chocolates, & dreams of Flying , With involvement of liver ( severe Hepatitis A & E ) the obvious choice was Lyco. 30 I dose.30 potency was prescribed as the pathology was intense & grave.

Response to the Homoeopathic medicine was excellent . His bilirubin levels came down to 18 from 38 in just 4 days. His Haemoglobin levels rose to 9.6. Patient was later discharged from the hospital in 7 days. He is keeping in good health at the moment with no other medication.

Conclusion:
Homoeopathic medicines works in the shortest time even in grave & serious diseases like heart attacks, renal failures, comatose patients & many such critical conditions. Take the clear cut mental, generals & characteristics particulars. Always repertorize the case, before giving the dose for confirming the accuracy.
